Shyani is building Connectivity @ Mercedes Benz — yes, the car company. No, she can't get you a discount.

I design enterprise,
fintech, and mobility
products used at scale.

Blending UX strategy, strong craft, and business impact — currently designing in-car and connected experiences at Mercedes-Benz R&D. Occasionally I also make toast, but that's a different kind of UX.

500+ support tickets fixed. Zero cars crashed. 🏎️

Fyle — Bulk Mileage Expense Report
500+ users were furiously filing mileage expenses by hand. Some were reportedly using Excel. Nobody was okay. I fixed it in 6 weeks — research, ideation, prototyping, shipped.

How I work

Process, not magic.
(Although sometimes it feels like magic. I take full credit.)

01
Understand the problem
I start by talking to users and stakeholders — not just to gather data, but because listening first is how you avoid designing solutions to the wrong problem. (Hard lesson. Learned it the fun way.)
02
Frame with clarity
A well-framed problem is half the solution. I write clear problem statements, define success metrics, and align the team before any pixels move. Yes, before.
03
Explore with intent
I explore multiple directions with lo-fi flows, test assumptions early, and cut ruthlessly based on evidence — not aesthetics, opinion, or whoever spoke last in the standup.
04
Ship & learn
I treat the first release as a hypothesis. I track metrics, synthesise feedback, and push for the next iteration. Design doesn't stop at handoff — unlike my attention span during all-hands meetings.

* No designers were harmed in the making of these processes. Several sticky notes were.

🎲 Fun fact: Shyani has shipped products used by more people than have read this sentence.

I help teams make better decisions through design.(I also have opinions about font sizes. Everyone knows.)

I'm Shyani — a product designer with 4+ years of experience across enterprise mobility, fintech, and consumer apps. I'm currently designing in-car and connected experiences at Mercedes-Benz R&D in Bengaluru, where my commute and my job description are ironically disconnected.

My approach is commercially aware and pragmatic. I work closely with PMs and engineers, push back when needed, and ship work I'm proud of. I'm not precious about ideas — I care about outcomes. (My stakeholders appreciate this. Mostly.)

I'm actively exploring Senior Product Designer roles at ambitious startups and scale-ups across the UK — whether in London, hybrid, or fully remote. If you're building something meaningful and occasionally chaotic, we'll get along.

Building something
worth getting right?

I'm currently looking for Senior Product Designer roles at ambitious startups and scale-ups across the UK. If you're working on a meaningful problem (or a mildly chaotic one — I don't judge), let's talk.

Response time: usually within 24 hrs. Unless it's Monday morning, in which case: 26 hrs.
